Ode to autumn

Ah, autumn. It’s the season when the once beautifully vibrant turn shades of orangy-brown and deep red, and then die.

They fall to the ground, only to be reanimated to the tune of Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

Wait, what?!

Yup! Since 2013, I’ve been part of Thrill the World Eugene.

It’s an annual international event wherein people all over the world dress up as the living dead and show up somewhere in public to simultaneously dance the same Thriller choreography.

Every September, I look forward to nurturing my alter ego as a zombie. It’s a hoot! And a howl. (sorry) And, it’s mostly for fun, but our group also raises a good chunk of money locally for ShelterCare.

Perfecting our mad zombie skills takes us to the streets of downtown Eugene for some practice flash mobs. Don’t be surprised if I sneak up on you!
